Whitney L. Warren is a litigator with over 12 years’ experience in complex civil litigation in cases throughout the United States. Whitney focuses her practice on insurance, construction, indemnity, and commercial litigation matters (including partnership and real estate dispute). Whitney has extensive experience handling complex insurance disputes for corporate policy holders under property, professional liability, and commercial liability policies.  She represents clients from pre-suit investigation through appeal, providing support at every stage. Her work includes developing litigation strategy, analyzing legal issues across multiple jurisdictions, assessing potential exposure, and implementing litigation plans.

In addition to her litigation practice, Whitney regularly advises clients on all insurance-related topics, including how to minimize risk, draft indemnity agreements and obtain optimum insurance coverage.

A Texas native, Whitney earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in Hospitality Management with a minor in Business from Boston University. She then returned to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. During law school, she served as a Managing Editor of the International Law Review, treasurer of the American Constitution Society, and volunteered with the Civil Clinic to assist underserved clients.

Whitney was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2013 and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas. She remains actively involved in the legal community through the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, Dallas Women Lawyers Association, and the Dallas Bar Association.

  • In credit risk insurance policy dispute for multinational electronics distributor, managed all aspects of discovery, extensive preparation of multiple witnesses, including corporate representative, for depositions, and act as primary contact for opposing counsel and client

    Represent insured in coverage litigation objecting to insurer’s wrongful interpretation and application of “capacity of creditor” exclusion where underlying pleadings alleged violations of the Texas Security Act, fraud, and misrepresentation

    Conduct coverage analysis on insurer’s duty to defend based on “eight-corner’s” analysis of insurance policy as well as indemnity analysis in construction disputes under recent implementation of Texas and Louisiana Anti-Indemnity Statutes. 

    Formerly counsel for multiple nationwide insurers handling complex insurance litigation, professional liability defense (including lawyers, engineers, architects and insurance agents), products liability defense, toxic torts, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, construction/surety cases and first party property claims.
